Before we get started we need you to take a look at the terms and conditions of becoming a member. These terms and conditions along with our privacy policy and terms of use provide information about us and the legal terms and conditions of membership, use of the platform, access to events, offers, our fund finder tool and any other services that we offer now or in the future.


These terms apply to your membership to Support for Business and the sale of products and services to you. Please read through these terms carefully before taking up membership and ensure that you understand them before purchasing your membership or any products or services from the website.

    The site is owned and operated by Support for Business Ltd. Support for Business is a private Limited company registered in England and Wales under Company Number 11020344 with its registered office at Inglewood, Northern Heights, Bourne End, England, SL8 5LE our trading address is 8 The First Floor, The Courtyard, Furlong Road, Bourne End, SL8 5AU . Our VAT registration is GB289 6367 36.

    General use of the site

    Use of the site must be in accordance with our terms of use.

    What personal information we collect and how we use it

    So we can deliver the best and unique experience to you our members, we collect personal information in accordance with our privacy policy. We also use cookies, to help with the delivery of unique service and inform us what you our users use and need, information about this can be found in our cookies policy.

    Membership restrictions

    Support for Business membership is restricted to users who are at least 18 years old. If you are not 18 then your membership application will be revoked and you will not be refunded.

    How to apply for membership

    You can only apply for membership online. A few routes of obtaining memberships are available as set out below:


    Homepage registration: This starts by giving your postcode, we use your postcode to define what support is available within your Local Enterprise Partnership area, as support is usually governed by these boundaries.


    Membership packages: These highlight the different membership packages available to businesses and the benefits of each one.


    Partner pages: We work with a number of partners to deliver business support services, in some cases we have unique login pages for our partners beneficiaries to access the site.


    On applying for membership, you will need to activate your account by checking your e-mails. You will set your username as your e-mail address (this will not be made public, unless you wish to publish this on your profile) and your password. Passwords will need to meet a certain strength to be accepted.


    If you forget your password, you can request for a password reset which will be sent to the email address that you registered with.

    Membership options

    We have a range of options available to all businesses, whether you are looking to start a business or grow your business. Membership applications are only accepted online.


    You can check our membership options and see which is best for you and your business. This also outlines the benefits to each member tier.

    Payment and renewal

    Membership is either on a month-by-month basis or a pre-paid 12-month subscription period, depending on the payment option you have chosen in your application form. Your membership shall automatically renew at the end of each subscription period (the renewal date) for another month or 12-month term as applicable unless you terminate your membership.


    We shall notify you by email approximately seven days (in the case of annual membership) prior to the applicable renewal date. This notice will let you know that your current subscription period is about to end, the renewal price and the renewal date on which your membership is due for renewal and your account charged.


    Monthly membership will be renewed on an ongoing basis on the same day of the month you took out membership unless otherwise cancelled.


    All notices regarding your membership will be sent to the last email address notified to us by you.

    Termination of membership

    To terminate your subscription without your account being charged for the next subscription period, you must do so before the renewal date. Please keep a record of when your subscription period ends and the next renewal date. You are responsible for terminating your membership in time regardless of whether you receive any notice from us.


    To terminate your subscription you will need to log in to your account and cancel your subscription. When you terminate your subscription you will not be removed from the platform, your membership level will be downgraded to the selected subscription and you will only be able to access areas and carry out actions associated with that membership level. This will take effect from the end of your current subscription period, whether that be monthly or annually.


    To delete your account, you will need to log in to your account and select delete account.

    Code of conduct

    We ask all our members to respect our code of conduct for using the site and for any services provided. These codes of conduct apply to all Support for Business products including (but not limited to): the website, email campaigns, social media channels and events.


    Support for Business is committed to delivering a service that is accessible to all regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religious opinions. We do not tolerate harassment of members, in any form, online or offline.


    Violations include, but are not limited to:

    • Offensive comments, posts or messages related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, mental or physical condition, race, ethnicity, or religion
    • Posting or sharing graphic content, intended to shock or humiliate others
    • Posting, sharing or carrying out activities of organised crime including drug abuse, weapon making and theft
    • Posting, commenting or sharing of information that promotes or encourages suicide or self-harm
    • Being disrespectful to other members opinions
    • Misleading or false statements that could be detrimental to a business’s activities
    • Threats of violence or intent to kill or inflict against an individual or a group on the site.
    • Infringing any copyright, database right or trademark of any other person;
    • Sending unwanted and untargeted repetitive messages or similar content to other members. Try to use the connection function to make useful and professional connections.

    Anyone asked to cease in any of the behaviour listed above will be expected to comply immediately. On receiving a report of violations, Support for Business may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or termination of membership with no refund.


    If you have any concerns relating to this code of conduct, please contact Support for Business by emailing hello@supportforbusiness.co.uk. All reports will be treated in the strictest confidence and Support for Business may need to carry out an investigation into the complaint.


    We want our community to be a safe space for all people and all businesses. We can only achieve this if everyone respects the code of conduct set out above.

    Prices for membership and other products

    Prices for membership and events run by Support for Business are set out on the home page of the site (www.supportforbusiness.co.uk), the membership options page (www.supportforbusiness.co.uk/membership-options-and-packages/) and the events pages (www.supportforbusiness.co.uk/events)


    Where we run promotions or work with partners, we may issue a discount code. This will need to be applied when completing the application process. Once the discount has been applied, you will be able to see the discounted price. Discounts will be time limited and only valid for a period of time, once this has expired your subscription will revert to the full price as shown on the above pages.


    If membership prices change your current membership cost will not be affected until the next billing period, whether that be annually or monthly. Any changes to prices will be notified and you will have the opportunity to cancel your membership.


    All prices are shown exclusive of VAT.


    We use Stripe to process payments and accept debit or credit card.

    Intellectual Property

    The intellectual property in content on the website and in products and services is the property of Support for Business or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademarks, database right and other intellectual property rights. You may retrieve and display the content of the website on a computer screen, store such content in electronic form on disk (but not any server or other storage device connected to a network) or print one copy of such content for your own personal, non-commercial use, provided you keep intact all and any copyright and proprietary notices. You may not otherwise reproduce, modify, copy or distribute or use for commercial purposes any of the materials or content on the website or for sale from the website without written permission from us.

    Our liability

    Membership, services and products are provided for internal use by your business, and you agree not to use your membership or any products or services for any resale purposes.


    Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

      • (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
      • (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
      • (c) any other liability which cannot be excluded by law.

    Subject to the above clause, we will under no circumstances whatever be liable to you, whether in contract, including negligence, breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising under or in connection with the contract for:

      • (a) any loss of profits, sales, business, or revenue;
      • (b) loss or corruption of data, information or software;
      • (c) loss of business opportunity;
      • (d) loss of anticipated savings;
      • (e) loss of goodwill; or
      • (f) any indirect or consequential loss.

    We make no representations or warranties:

      • (a) that membership or attendance at any event or use of any content will be appropriate for any particular purpose;
      • (b) about the accuracy, reliability or completeness of any content;
      • (c) about the results obtained from membership or accessing or attending any event or using any content; or
      • (d) that the use of any of the content will not infringe the Intellectual Property rights of any third party.

    It is your responsibility to ensure that membership or an event or any products or services are suitable for your requirements. We accept no liability if such membership, content, products or services do not meet your requirements.


    We give no assurance that materials on the website are appropriate or available for use in locations outside the United Kingdom or that the website’s contents are in accordance with the laws of any other jurisdiction. If you choose to access the website from locations outside the United Kingdom, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.


    We give no assurances about any information, products or services shown in the fund finder tool, events or offers pages will be available at the time of publication, this is due to the information coming from third parties. Whilst we taken reasonable care in selecting third party suppliers, we do not endorse them in any way and you are responsible for determining whether the services of such third party suppliers are appropriate for your business.


    We will not be liable for any changes to information, products or services shown, this includes but is not limited to:


    • Grants
    • Events
    • Business Support
    • Offers
    • Guides


    We will have no liability for any expenses incurred by members in relation to such changes.


    Our site contains links to the websites of third-party suppliers and adviser members. Whilst we taken reasonable care in selecting third party suppliers, we do not endorse them in any way and you are responsible for determining whether the services of such third party suppliers are appropriate for your business. We shall have no liability in respect of any advice given by such third parties or members, or any services or products included in any such external website links. All services offered by third parties and members are subject to their terms of business. You are responsible for reviewing those terms of business and taking independent advice in relation to them if appropriate.


    You shall indemnify us against all costs, claims, damages, liability and expenses (including any reasonable professional fees) which we might incur by reason of your breach of these terms, including, without limitation any losses which we may suffer as a result of the unauthorised use by third parties of any user name and password issued to you, except in circumstances where you can demonstrate to our satisfaction that such third party obtained the relevant details through no fault (including, without limitation, negligence) on your part.

    Other important terms

    We may transfer our rights and obligations under the contract to an affiliate without obtaining your prior consent.


    We may sub-contract any of our obligations under the contract to any other person provided that this shall not affect your rights or our obligations under these terms.


    You may only transfer your rights or your obligations under these terms to another person with our prior written consent.


    The contract is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of these terms.

    Changes to these terms

    We reserve the right to make changes to these terms at any time. Any such amendments shall be posted on the website and material changes shall be notified to members by email. It is your responsibility to refer regularly to these terms and note any amendments. Amendments will come into effect immediately on the amended terms being posted on the website and you will be deemed to have accepted them if you access the website after that time.
